Baby Wildcat, by Melanie Cook.
I love the way her whiskers curl…
like the curve of an umbrella.
Spread wide,
spread low
I love the way she stalks the hallway,
front lowered,
like a wildcat.
Baby wildcat.
Baby wildcat purrs before she reaches me,
watching, in anticipation of my touch.
I reach down and she rubs her body along my hand
purring,
rubbing her head around my wrist.
Wrapping herself around my little finger.
Wrapping me around hers.
I love my cat.
And she loves me.
My magic cat.
My Mosi cat.
My purrball.
Hear her purr
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking.
And a grey mist on the sea’s face and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over
If you've ever wondered what the Not Remotely Onion thing is all about, it's that my real blog is at the-onion.net, not here. I do post there, so go read!
Got this from jenny but I saw it at NomDeCocon and a few other places.
Cybersex: cheating, yes or no?
That would depend on your relationship rules. If sex with someone else is, then yes. Sex is sex, whether it's cyber or in the flesh. I know they're not the same thing, but I also know what cybersex can feel like. And if that ain't sex, then I don't know what it is.
How many times a week would you like to have sex?
whenever I felt like it.
How many times a week do you actually have sex?
however often we both feel like it! :D Probably once or twice, or three times if we're really lucky!
How many times a week do you masturbate?
hmm.. not many. Probably less than once, to be honest. But when I do, I probably do more than once.
What do you do sexually that you would be embarrassed for your friends or family to find out about?
Well... it isn't that I'd necessarily be embarassed about it, but the details just aren't something I usually broadcast. By the same token, everyone knows I'm a lesbian, so aside from wondering what on earth I'm doing with Neil, they probably have some idea (even if they mightn't like it, or mightn't like to think about it) of what I like :)
Have you ever had an affair?
Not one that wasn't sanctioned :)
If not, could you foresee a situation in which you would?
I think again that this depends on the rules of your relationship. By most people's definition, possibly yes.
If your partner had an affair, do you think you could forgive him/her?
I have done in the past, but I wouldn't be too happy if it was done without my knowledge, or without me there.
BONUS
QUESTION: Which blogger would you most like to get in the sack? Let's
make this one guilt-free and not worry about any fall-out from the
answer or if they are in a relationship in real life, just name who you
think is good in bed based on their blog.
Well I know NomDeCocon is, but there is someone else out there that I'm lusting after, and that's Alicia who isn't my cyber-lover, despite what mr NDC might say ;)
I got a package in the mail today, and wondered what on earth it was, thinking I haven't been buying anything recently!
But I did. I bought this..
Not from Amazon though, directly from Renee.
I love the typesetting and the layout. Makes me want to redo all the work I've done so far on my own journal books. To make them better. To personalise them. To make them more like me, I suppose. Although I have gone part way towards that by using my own hand font for all of the headings and stuff like that.
kat started this.
I'm actually already in the middle of cleaning that up. If I get done I'll post the after pic :)
It's only a week until the blogathon.
I would really like it if you sponsored me!
and read this
I have thank you gifts :)
Megan gave me this for mothers day. It's the first mothers day gift I've been given by any of my step children.
I just started to read it last night.

This one’s for Alicia. For being there.
My poem this week is Because I Could Not Stop for Death, by Emily Dickenson.
Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.
We slowly drove, he knew no haste,
And I had put away
My labor, and my leisure too,
For his civility.
Their lessons scarcely done;
We passed the fields of gazing grain,
We passed the setting sun.
We paused before a house that seemed
A swelling of the ground;
The roof was scarcely visible,
The cornice but a mound.
Since then ‘t is centuries; but each
Feels shorter than the day
I first surmised the horses’ heads
Were toward eternity.
